Photos of Happy 16-50 buyers
Posted By: jsherman999, 04-13-2008, 10:17 PM

.

And here they are! Photos of the happy 16-50 buyers, all 4 of them!

Actually, I meant 'photos by happy 16-50 buyers', my mistake

(photo above is a crop of jpeg snapshot taken with 16-50, I was impressed with sharpness/color. And that skin tone!

Anyone else have good 16-50 examples they'd like to post?

Thanks for the time you are taking to comment, Stephen. Ironicly colleagues do not like these images on computer screen but love the actual prints out to A3 size.

Good tips and I will take that in mind to try next time around.

I meant to add my link to this thread as a happy 16-50 owner, but i admit, some shots here are truly amazing.

Image Gallery: ctg (33) if you want to see more, i even let you pixelpeep which i suggest you don't do, they look great at 50% though.

I am not sure yet if my AF adjustment is now spot on or not, i don't feel like printing a focus chart, all shots considered, i may go from -5 to -6 next time i get to shoot it.

Hope you do enjoy one or other shot, i did shoot way more 2.8 than i otherwise would, due to all the bad stories around i used it in ways i otherwise wouldn't. (16/2.8 is something you won't find on my disk much)

Wow ... this is for Jay ... you have an awesome copy of the 16-50mm
And those images from your road trip are fantastic indeed.
It feels like you are ther looking out across those vista's ... I love the way the mist is above the snow fields ... gives it an ethereal effect.

When the 16-50 is good, it is really good. Colour rendering, contrast and sharpness is intriguing.
You’re showing some great work from it, jsherman999.
This is superb close-up. Didn’t know it was possible to focus that close

16mm up close is fun with this lens:

Dominique/Tcom, those are outstanding from Madagascar.

Such a beautiful portrait, Ericc. I see your point; the day I get the lens, I plan to use it at most optimal settings. And generally for real life imagery

Very fine resolution and detail in your shots too, daacon

For versatility, the 16-50 is hard to beat

Been taking a lot of shots with my sweet M, K, DA, FA primes lately, and have been
neglecting the 16-50. Had it on the camera today as I worked from home in the
back yard, and my little guy kept crawling over to my 'desk' (rectangular metal fire
pit) to try to slap my keyboard. Apparently he wanted to help daddy work.

Anyway, the 16-50 is capable of prime-like resolution most of the time, so I
guess I was shooting with some 16-20-28-35-50mm primes today!

Just thought the following snapshot was nice:

34mm 1/125s f/4.5 ISO 200

Cropped:

Slightly overexposed, but that's the photographer's fault for leaving it on + 0.5
from when I was shooting in the shadows.

Wanted to share some i took today in the DaVinci exhibit here at the Witte Museum, dark exhibit, only a few small halogen lights on the actual items, i am more than happy with the results i got from the lens on that camera.
(They won't be photographically masterful, since i pretty much shot while not losing the girl in green out of my sight )

I took a look at the large images, nice sharpness! Especially at ISO 1600. Nice work. (& the girl in green is a cutie )

Never noticed this one, thanks Too bad she is "camera shy".

Those last shots make me wanna go out more for no reason other than to walk and shoot.
