What a great looking shot. The colors in his feathers are something else. Well done.

Wow, that's spectacular shot and to capture one of these in "hover" mode, well done indeed.

Very nice! Curious as to where in PB County as I visit there from time to time and am always looking for birding spots.

Taken at Green Cay, in the Delray Beach / Boynton Beach area off Hagen Ranch Rd.

Thanks -- on the list for my next trip. That makes for an excellent trio of birding spots very close together, with Wakodahatchee and Loxahatchee.

Great freeze of that harrier especially since the K-20 makes such shots pretty challenging. You must have been pretty close to get that detail even with the use of 300mm.

The image is cropped some so I would estimate I was 30 to 40 yards away from the Northern Harrier. It was one of those perfect moments when the camera settings were just right and I had continuous mode enabled so I actually got over a dozen pictures. This has really got me thinking about a K3 with it's 8 FPS capabilities!

If you get to Loxahatchee anytime soon ask at the Visitor Center if the Great Horned Owls are nesting. They can give you directions (walking distance) to the area to search but you will have to have a sharp eye as the owls blend in perfectly with the spanish moss.
