I just picked up a Tamron SP 300mm lens last week. Having read countless threads about how Pentax AF along with 3 frames per second is nowhere near enough to do anything useful, I thought I'd go out and give things a try (tongue planted firmly in cheek :-) ).

This is my first real attempt at 'birding'.

This was the first bird I saw coming in for a landing. Clearly my excitement led to a complete inability to keep the lens pointed at the subject. Still, I thought I'd share.

Nioce series Don - it would have been better to have the full swan in all the frames , but that just takes pratice. Love the moon shot as well.

Thanks Dave. Ya, I don't know why I was so shaky with that series. The swan came out of no-where, though. I caught it out of the corner of my eye, swung around, brought the camera up to my eye and started firing. I'll have to watch the skys for these birds so I'm a little more composed on my next outting :-)
