Unlike most of Canada, the west coast doesn't normally see a lot of sub-zero temperatures in winter. Especially on small islands like ours. Well, the last week has seen most nights with -4 to -8 degrees C and the forest is responding in a really funky way. A small stream bed has erupted with natural ice sculptures. It's like each pebble in the stream bed has seeded a growing icicle. This is a close up of one of them.

Quite a capture Darryl. It almost looks like a faucet to me. If you turn it on more ice will come.
