I love the first one bud, a real standout, you're the man when it comes to bw, so cool. One hell of a movie also.

Fog Lights?

Very nice photos, Jer! The first one just needs a spooky figure shambling through the mist...or maybe Bogie near a lamppost, smoking.
We're getting that cold mist and fog here today, unusual for this area. I might just have to get out with a fast lens, myself!
Thanks for posting,
Ron

Great shots, the first one is so moody. I expect to see something coming out of the mist.

Jer - sounds like you need a remote trigger that can work at a distance so you can frame yourself somewhere in the shot!

Thanks, EM. I've never read The Fog nor seen movie versions, so it didn't occur to me .

Hey, Bob, thanks much, as always. Believe it or not, I'd not seen the movie until about two weeks ago - even with the '70s era production feel, it is one chilling movie for sure . Consequently, the phrase, "play misty for me", materialized in my brain the moment I pulled the camera to my eye.

Thanks very much, Ron. I would loved to have had an assistant to act as Bogie! Luckily, this was a warm rather than a cold fog, thus I could hand hold the camera at 1/15s without shaking too much (the 1/30 I specified in the heading is inaccurate).

Thank you . I think lots of movies and books have trained us to expect "something" to emerge from the mist; perhaps that in this shot that "something" stealthily stalks from behind the wall of mist adding tension to the photo. OK, OK . . . . my wife didn't buy that line either .

That's exactly what I needed, my friend . It would have been a terrific self portrait - I'd portray myself as a skinny George Smiley .

I'm glad you liked 'em, Susan. I haven't shot in the fog for a long while - I enjoyed it (thank goodness it was about 65F).
