AN HDR from one of the paths in Oleano SP.

Little Manatee River SP

One of our few days with a bit of sun.

That's it for this part of the trip. The weather was so awful I can't believe I managed to get some shot.

How many of these are HDR? From the description it sounds like just the first one. In any event, it is well done. I find too many HDR are overdone and the image loses touch with the reality of what was photographed. You have lots of rich but not overdone colors here so you did well. I'd have had no idea the weather was awful.

Thanks for making me homesick

I kid, great shots, but it does make me miss the place.

I love the reflection on the pond. Great shot. However, I am getting really high blood pressure from all these postings where you can actually see the ground rather than that cold white stuff.

Just the first one is and HDR. Thanks for the kind comment on it.

Well, it is Florida and a lot of the ground is swamp so there is a trade-off.

Swamps are not a trade off for losing fingers and toes to frostbite if you get wet. Although, I guess, crocodiles and alligators can cause injury too.

Well you can tell from my uncertainty that I didn't think any less of it compared with the other images even though I don't like most HDR shots. I guess the only obvious tell is the fuzziness in some of the reflections in the water, which aren't the typical blur you'd get from a slow shutter speed but rather multiple images overlaid. Not sure how often you try HDR, but it looks like yet another skill you have in your toolbox.

Thanks so much. Nice of you to say. I did a few more HDRs on this trip that I will post as they come up. My goal is to achieve an image that doesn't look like an HDR.

If you hadn't said it, I wouldn't have known it was HDR, therefore you've done really well.

Wow, Susan, you've made this place look lush - like others have said, I wouldn't have pegged the first one for HDR, which means you have a deft hand at PP.

You really do some great river and waterway shots and these are no exception.
