Well it appears that way doesn't it, but that is our Moon and the planet Saturn, taken Dec 26th, 2013, hand held.

Nice shot! I am currently waiting patiently for a daytime full moon rise over the coulee to the east of my home!

the photo I would really like is Venus inside of a crescent moon, but that would require a perfect alignment I will probably never see. thanks Bob.

That would be a very unusual shot!
I should have gone out last night. By the time I got the moon over the horizon, the sunlight on the coulee dropped to zone zero. Last night the moon rose an hour earlier. Rats.

from what I read tomorrow we have a full moon which will be rising about the same time the sun is setting, so that may help your photo?

I checked, and the moon rises an hour later tomorrow night, than it did tonight.
Maybe next month, LOL

The moon rise was an hour earlier last night which put it just inside that golden hour, which is what I had hoped to get, the colors on the walls are kinda cool. reds, greens etc.
