Let It Snow
Lens: Pentax 50mm AF 1:1.4 Camera: K3 Photo Location: Hermiston, OR ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F2.4

A shot of my wife and two boys as they stood just under the awning of the hospital entrance the other night while it was snowing. No worries my oldest was there testing for his next karate rank; we weren't there for injury or illness.

Lighting provided by the awning/entry lights which cast a very yellow hue and the parking lot lighting (sodium lights I believe) which cast a very blue hue. No flash used.

Let It Snow

Enjoy,
Dave

what a lovely family portrait, it's nice to see smiles in such cold weather.

The hospital has a dojo? I'm confused. But I guess it is convenient during full contact sparring.

Yellow could be sodium, blue is probably LED. The contrasting colors help the photo.

They look ready to take on the world. This is one to have pride of place in the family album.

Bob, Thank you. DeadJohn the karate course is put on through the hospital's community wellness program and the class uses one of the hospital's conference rooms for the rank testing every three months.
Slowpez, I thank you; I ordered this on metallic paper framed at 16x24 for my wife's Valentines day present.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

hahaha Kerrodown Yeah, that is me. They were (especially my wife) just happy I was taking photos of them, and the boys were loving the snow. My oldest had just passed his rank test to advance to the next belt in Tang Soo Do.

I say no matter what the weather is there are always photographic opportunities
