Snow Blowing 1 plus foot of snow
Posted By: Michael Piziak, 02-13-2014, 01:06 PM

We easily got over a foot of snow last night in Southern, WV. I wish I had put my Pentax 55-300mm lens on, but the 18-55mm kit lens was already on. All images taken with aperture priority mode at F14.

I live about an hour from the OP, and our local area had "only" 6-9", depending on your elevation and how far west you were. At the beginning of this week, we were predicted to get flurries, then a "dusting", then as recently as yesterday, 1-3". The local forecasters say it was because of a rapidly shifting model. It turned our local streets and highways into parking lots. The metro area was totally unprepared, and as late as noon, much of the roads were untouched by highway crews.

For the first couple of times, it's fun; then it's a royal pain. Wife want to go shopping, check the oil, fill the gas, crank it up, blow out the driveway, curse and give the finger to the plow that just plowed you in again ....

For us it's just a 3 or 4 time a year thing to use the Snowblower - so it's fun. But for you guys up in the great white north I'm sure it gets to be a pain in the behind!
Solution for you: Teach the wife how to run the Snow Blower, LOL.

It looks like we'll be digging out again in the morning. Local forecast map shows 3-6" for my area, with more to the SE, toward Michael's part of the state. It is shaping up very much like the winter of '86-87, where we had two feet of snow on 4/1/87.
