One Shovel Wide Snow Path
Lens: Pentax 18-55mm Camera: k-r Photo Location: WV ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F9.5

I shoveled a single path from our house to our garage. Photo taken at night on a tripod with camera about 1.5 feet off the ground. Converted to black and white.

It's a little over a foot of snow. The perspective of the camera being low makes it look like much more I think.

You missed a spot.

So I have to ask, why is the picture twice as wide as my screen? I have the resolution of my monitor maxed out, and the shot is wider than the shovel.

I went back and resized it to 1024 size. It was 1600 size.

Why thank you Michael! I appreciate that.

The snow photos do look great. I saw the snow blower shots, reminded me of myself about 8 years ago up my way.

So has the snow let up down that way? I was in Ravesnwood Tuesday, and although cold, there was little, if any snow. Glad I got out of there before it started coming down.

Oh, and how much have you got now?

No problemo. I think I'll post all future shots at 1024 or smaller - someone else said that one of my posts wouldn't fit on their monitor.

The snow has let up, but we are expected to get 2 to 4 inches tonight and tomorrow. We got around 17 inches of snow in Southern W.V.

Thanks for commenting !

Nice pic, Michael. I'm getting loads of extra exercise shoveling my driveway.

Love the B&W treatment and low perspective. Made for an interesting shot and I think it would look good framed and put on the wall (only for summer viewing though.)

Probably by his wife's design. The result is twofold. It gets the walk cleared, and she gets him out of her hair for a while.
