Attempt at photo shop to sharpen this closely cropped pic of the bird in dim light and misty weather. Critique and tips welcome!

I like the shot - the roof and pipe work well for the rule of thirds and act as great vectors for the eye - they also lead well to the main subject of the bird. I like the depth of field here too. I think you may have slightly overexposed the shot as the pipe is a little light, but other than that it's a great job done.

Nice capture. Playing with your contrast and brightness after removing noise in the shot will automatically create more detail for you.
