Old barn revisited
Posted By: robert, 04-14-2008, 09:05 PM

I photographed this barn back during the winter. Drove by it today and couldn't help myself. In my opinion the sky makes these 2 photos...Bob

Oh definitely! I love the complimentary colors (hint hint) of the barn and the grass. The lean in the tree almost emphasizes the movement of the clouds, everything taking your eyes to the same place. I like the horizontal the better of the two.

I like the horizontal one better also..I didn't notice until I posted them and saw them side by side how much they look alike especialy after cropping the one on the right. It was taken verticaly but I had to crop the road off the bottom...Bob

Love that first one. The colors are wonderful, the break in the sky is perfect... Absolutely beautiful... if you have the winter shot handy, post it up in the thread so we can easily compare it.

Thanks

I remember the first post and it was very good. These are even better. I like the second the best. It gives a better sense of the 'Big Sky". The basically empty space in the left of the first one has the eye wandering and looking for something of interest. Also the lean of the tree, moves the eye up the second shot and that direction is continued along the line of the clouds which have a similar angle to them.

Excellent colour in both. Well worth stopping for a re-rake. Now you'll have to go back after the leaves are out and in fall when they turn colour. Frame all 4 scenes together. I hear Vivaldi in the background...
