Cypress trees relected in the St. Johns river
Camera: Pentax K-x Photo Location: St. Johns River ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F6.7

This was taken on the St Johns river outside of Orlando, FL. The dark area at the bottom of each tree is the water level during one of the floods.

Whoa, very interesting scenery. The composition does emphasize the horizontal lines, and the reflections are great.Thanks for sharing. Did you use an HDR mode?

Thanks for your comments. No HDR was not used. This was only adjusted some in Lightroom 5.

If you hadn't explained the banding I would have told you to get your camera checked out
Enjoy photos with a bit of a story to them, and this one is interesting in its own right.

Wow, that is so beautiful - I love everything about this shot. I was getting confused about the darker and lighter areas until I read your comment - that's quite funny actually - does look like you've darkened the bottom two thirds of the photo Really nice shot

Lovely. This is the most difficult kind of shot for me to capture and none have come out looking like anything. This one is just perfect. TFS.
