the Racing Rose
Lens: 50mm Camera: Kx Photo Location: Indio, CA

the photo is a little soft, but since the rose has a racing stripe with blue flames, I wanted to share with you. I believe the blue is due to the wall next to the bush, flash used.

Soft or not, it's really quite nice. It looks sharp enough at this size, imo.

Perfect title Bob. Looks sharp enough to me too. The dark background really enhances the flower.

Um, this isn't one of EM's images (assuming I'm reading your post correctly). Very similar to some of his work, but this gem is from Bob Harris

I use the 50mm f/2.8 macro lens, nice and sharp but a little shorter than the 105mm for macro photos.

there was a dark blue wall around the plants so I just added contrast to darken the background.

thanks to both for viewing and commenting. Just getting mentioned with EM is ego building but he is the master for sure.

The blue is actually the leaf of the rose and for some reason turned bluish due to the flash I think?

You're right, not the traditional rose shot at all, sort of cool I thought.
