Jessie's Halo
Lens: Sigma 10-20 4-5.6 Camera: Kr ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

I finally after about 2 years of looking got myself an ultra wide lens. I took it out last night to try and get some shots of the sunset, but think I need to work out how to compose images with it a bit more. I also took a few shots of my whippet Jessie, you can get some pretty cool perspectives with it. Anyway here is one I'm happy with.500px / Jessie's Halo by Harry Smiles

wow, that's awesome. That lens does a really good job. Just wish the dog wasn't so dark.

Yeah I tried to lighten him in Photoshop (he was much darker originally), I just started to think it was looking too HDRish if I pushed him further. It would have been a good place to have had a flash for some fill light. That's the next piece of kit on the shopping list.

Use the Dodge tool to lighten him and that way you'll keep the rest of the shot as is. Bloody nice shot though.

I wouldn't push the light on the dog too much.
For me, this looks very natural, and still you can see all the details.
I like it the way it is.

Once again: wonderful shot :-)

Lack of brightness of the dog is an easy fix. Open the shot in Photoshop: silhouette the dog with "magnetic lasso" and go to brightness and contrast. Increase the brightness a little bit and slightly bump up the contrast and the dog will be perfect. Freddy

I like it the way it is too. I have a feeling that at full size it isn't too dark. Anyway, it is an awesome shot and I just know Jessie would like it hanging in his room.

I'm with the leave-it-as-is crowd. That's what I would see in that lighting. Great shot, Great caption, too.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Here is the original photo, which was very dark. Then under that is after I've made some edits in Lightroom, before any work in Photoshop.

So glad you were able to purchase this lens - looks like a great tool in your capable hands.

Will add my vote to not doing any more dodging on the puppy - looks just right to me...
