A few more from my creepy crawly collection. Some more creepy than others.

This guy decided to hitch a ride on our fresh water tote.

I so wish this one had been in focus. Through glass.

I know I have posted this one before

Insects can be incredibly interesting photo subjects, and you captured them doing what they do!
They tend to refuse to pose for me, I think they expect a pay raise!

Fuzzy in #2 is cute. What is it when it metamorphosizes? (Grows up).

Or they may just want to take a bite out of you as payment.

All but the ants were taken with the tammy 90mm macro. The ants were actually taken with the 300.

I haven't the foggiest idea. Tony Turley identified it as a Tussock Moth caterpillar so I am going out on a limb and say it may end up as a moth.

At least you are honest about it. Thanks for trying. I'm going to look for the Tussock Moth on the web - I've never heard about it before. Not that I know even 1/10 of the zillion moths out there.

I looked it up in a book on insects by Audubon. It is a white-marked tussock moth. The female dies after laying eggs and is wingless. Stupid book didn't have a picture of the adult.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia entry on white-marked tussock moth. I would never have found it by looking in a book of pictures. Never! The caterpillar looks a lot nicer than the moth.

Orgyia leucostigma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know even even less than about bugs than I do birds, but I do know good photographs. Nice job, Susan.

That first one is an assassin bug, not a stink bug (they are closely related, though). Assassin bugs are great to have in the garden as the suck the life out of pest insects (literally).

Quite the dull moth for sure. Thanks for the link.
