love the last one Tess, Do you and Norm shovel out a walk for the dogs to run in. Looks like a mini bobsled course for pups.

Those dogs were sure enjoying the outing - but then, dogs always do.

Why do Norm and Tess go walking together? So they can shoot each other, of course.
I see your gallery of artistic nature portraits is growing about as fast as Norm's bird collection.
Always look forward to seeing your posts

Awesome photos! Crisp, well-focused, and well-exposed! Things that are very hard to do with those subjects in that climate

Nice series Tess. I keep going back to the second image. I love the action you captured but what really makes the image is the winter-blue shadows. The shadows provide depth and detail to the image that the white snow often lacks.

Thanks Ted... it really is fun when you can get out into the woods on snowshoes. You can see where the wolves and moose travel, and you can feel how still and quiet the world can be.

Thanks Bob! LOL... the paths that you see are made with the snow shoes. When we break new ground, as we did here, it is a lot of work. But once made they get easier and better with each hike. The dogs can't even go with us the first time through because it is so deep.

Thanks Canada_Rockies! Dogs rule here in the north

Hey Joel, I am in the love/hate relationship with winter now. When I get out there I forget how much I yearn for spring and new growth.

Ah, thanks MSL, nice of you to say. What I liked about those two plant shots were the lines on the leatherleaf and points on the thistle. Not sure what I'll ever do with my "collection," though I enjoy the photographing part.

Thank you Tim! Sometimes the blue works out in my favour. I also love that shot of Misty. She is always a happy dog.

Thank you Westoz... they do love the snow and the outdoors in general. They go on canoeing and camping trips too, and they are totally awesome in the canoe. Our ice-out spring trip is 10 weeks away!
