Green is the new black, donchano! A translucent grasshopper and agave leaves backlit in the noonday sun.

it's not easy being green - having to spend the day posing for photographers ....
lovely contrast of shapes with just a few highlights for empahsis

Thanks MSL. I think the leaves in front and back also give the picture some depth; something I find difficult to achieve in a semi-macro shot.

I think that is partly what I was getting at when I said contrast of shapes - and I agree the bright band along the edge of the leaf helps a lot for giving some depth.

I am sorry, i didnt mean to correct you, I did not even realize you typed grasshopper. I just saw the mantis and got a little excited.

Yes, and on a promise of wide exposure on a major international photographic forum he even waited until I went inside, got my gear and set it up. I've got his card if you'd like it.
