Well I have done quite a few favors for some of my amercian friends over the last year or so. A few weeks ago I asked if they would do me a favor.

Today delivered to my door no less

Let's open it up !

Gotcha but you were kinda expecting this weren't ya

I am pumped ! I have a few RSP shots ,appears fast ,sharp and silent .I won't be able to get out for some real shots today anyway.

If it is not obvious the reason for the US purchases it is $$ realted , I saved between $200 - $300 now I have half of the dynamic duo - just need a good copy of the DA* 16-50.

Congrats Dave. It's like Christmas in April. Good to have friends in cheaper places. I did a test run with this lens and it's as good as everyone says. The SDM is sorta freaky. I kept wondering if it was focused. No noise to say "I'm hunting, just hang on a sec".

Thanks Peter yep I was not sure but low and behold USPS - no taxes , brokerage fees - a good deal for sure. I had one on a couple times as well, this apparently was my first mistake - I prefer the wide end - I think I am more of an extreme shooter- wide and or long not much in the middle so far. We'll see if I can expand my horizons as they say.

Thanks Pat - the anticipation was killing me. It was several weeks after I had asked and the USPS web site still had a status of 'In Customs' then Ding Dong - at my door - a sweet surprise for sure !

Thanks James - I had not heard a bad word about this lens so am anxious for some field work. My bank account was not too happy either - but I made some consessions and promises to myself always a trade off

Congratulations Dave. Look forward to seeing the images. Are you at the point where you need a bigger bag for carrying all those lenses yet?
