Here are some of my first photos with my new Pentax-m 50mm f1.7, I think they were shot wide open and for first shots I was pretty impressed. Please remember there has been NO PP since I can't at the moment so this is exactly how the photos were shot.





It was getting dark and the lens refused to take handheld photos that were properly exposed without flash, and with flash everything was very overexposed (as in completely white) unless the darkest settings were used. So here is the result.. Evil black smudge!

Wow, you got a good deal on the nifty fifties. I like mine too. I think it was the first manual lens I purchased after I went digital. That last image is spectacular.

Thanks.. I actually got two as there were a couple lenses included in an eBay listing.. will have to try the other one out and see which one produces better photos.


Yeah, I do like it a lot. And I have two Will probably sell the one which produces slightly worse photos (if one does). Paid AU$100 for both plus 3 other lenses so I was pretty happy

But when you add the hours and hours and hours I've spent looking through eBay and gumtree for lens deals, it's a slightly worse deal..

Yeah, I started with that. Then moved onto looking at everything used with the keyword 'pentax'. Then expanded to anything used of any m42 brands that are in the listed brands plus the 'not specified' category with the keyword 'cameras'... Am checking in newly listed now at least once a day. And do the same sort of thing with gumtree. I'm too crazy..
