Posted this image in one the thematic threads, but it seems like a lot of the images there get overlooked.

an interesting photo Marc, I like the selective focus and bokeh here, makes you take a long deep look into the photo.

Thanks for commenting Bob. I think you've hit on one of the reasons I like this shot, even though it is a very different type of photo for me.

I like it I find the ice Crystal bokeh interesting there's a lot to look at, it seems to lead me from right to left and into the photo.

This is an interesting shot - interesting and different. The selective focus gives the shot the feeling of an abstract. I like it.

Thanks all. I'm still trying to figure out if this image works and why so getting your feedback is really helpful.

I love 'thin edge of the wedge' shots and this one is really nice. I would crop out some of the bottom and right foreground oof, letting the gorgeous bokeh and "thin edge" fill the frame. It is very pretty and the tones are wonderful.

Interesting suggestion Tess, and I'm glad you put it forward. The image above is already a crop having taken out part of the left side and bottom. Maybe I should post the full shot and see what sort of cropping ideas people have.

Here you go. I cropped minimally from the left, just to make the image a proper 3:2 aspect ratio.

You might hate this, but I cropped and flipped it because my brain is hardwired to see things move from left to right, and I put the focal point in the top left corner of the centre using the rule of thirds.
