Why I love the PF
Lens: DA 15-55 Camera: 1st DL
Posted By: gifthorse, 03-05-2014, 05:28 PM

Several days ago I was at a rummage sale and found a 1st DL with DA 15-55. It was marked "Broken" and had a price of $10. Being the risk taker that I am I gambled the $10 bucks on it. I got it home and put in fresh batteries and got a Memory card error. (No wonder. It didn't have a memory card!) I inserted a SDHC card and formatted it and still got the error message. (The lens works fine on my K-r and K-5II) It had version 1 firmware and would not take the update. I asked for help on the General Troubleshooting board and almost immediately was told I needed SD card instead of an SDHC. I dug up an Sd card, inserted it into the camera and ...TA DA!

There are a lot of members who love to help others here. That's the greatest thing about the forum. The second greatest thing is the Zero Tolerance for abuse that Adam and his helpers enforce.

$10.00! Some people have all the luck. Nice captures on the camera, lens and images.

Nice shots!

I miss the *ist series, particularly the initial *ist D was a nice (but tiny) camera. Missing SR of course, but just enjoyable to use...

At first I thought you loved 'Purple Fringing.' $10? Dang, what a deal.

I like the forum too for all the helpful folks and the great images that inspire me to try harder.
