This is the Rokinon 85mm with a +2 close-up filter. Uncropped. You can get much closer than the 3' the standard lens will do.

Nice! Currently, the 85/1.4 is on my travel wishlist for an upcoming trip, this shot only further cements my desire

By any chance, have you tried out the close up lens on any of the Pentax lenses which have a fairly long minimum focus distance for their type, such as the DA 70mm/2.4 Limited? I have the Sigma Apochromatic close up lens which can do very well with some of my older Nikkors, such as the 200mm/4.0 AI-S and the 100-300mm/5.6 AI-S.

No, I haven't the luxury to have any higher-end limited lenses to try out. Also, this close-up lens set is not expensive glass... just your basic $10 set of vivitars which, under the right conditions, can produce something useful.

The much better Sigma can be had in 52mm thread on a certain infamous auction site for fifteen bucks or less if you're patient. It was an accessory item for certain zoom models, but it shows up ala carte regularly.
