Oh My that Loblolly Pine towers over my house, which is almost as tall as a two story home. The 4th pic down is the branch that subsequently fell after I shot those pics.

Awesome work!! Love these super sharp ice shots, you've captured them very well! Sound fairly dangerous though..

What an amazing amount of ice. That does a lot of damage. Good job photographing it. That mass of pine needles is awesome.

Outstanding group of photos, for sure. We had some freezing rain down here a few weeks ago - something I've not seen but two or three times since moving to Texas from Michigan 18 years ago.

Was surprised it came out as good as it did since the sky was gray, and it was drizzling, and misty, long lens, handheld. But I must say knowing I had the weather resistant lens and camera helped a lot, no worry there.

I had to be quick to get the pics, the temp was going down and the rain was helping to melt it, but I could hear the echoing of tree branches breaking and falling all over the neighborhood and across the street. Sure enough, the whole branch the pine needle mass came from came crashing down about an hour after taking the pics. It was about 20 feet long. Lol, we not used to that unless a tornado does it.

Same here, maybe 3 instances of freezing rain that was worth photographing.
