Look at the colors on this guy *bug alert
Posted By: Igilligan, 04-17-2008, 10:49 PM

I am blown away by the Series 1 105 colors. I did some abstact macros in this thread and was really very happy with the color... thanks to all the nice people who commented...

And shot this one today. This is just a tight crop to show off the detail, but the colors are very interesting on this fly... I am loving this old lens.

Incredible shot Gus.

So many things are interesting/beautiful when you get down to the macro level - we just never notice them up here in our 'big world'.

Thanks for being so 'fly' everybody

Thank you all for taking the time to comment on the FLY shot... I loved the colors and as jsherman999 said, when you get down to the macro level there is a lot of beauty that we never see...

I forgot to mention that on this shot I actually used the on board flash and It worked ok and helped those iridescent colors pop... If I have the 105 all the way out for maximum magnification then the lens blocks the bottom 1/4 of the shot, leaving it dark. but I can work around that till I get a real flash.

And to Dave, It is not a tripod this time, although I was on the ground and braced pretty good. Plus using the onboard flash helped up the shutterspeed a tad. And real
I am finding myself flat on my belly on way to many of these macro shots... I see why the flipscreen LCD and live view is the macro shooters friend..
