River birch, Thunderhead sandstone

Another one from yesterday's walk in the Park: I'd like to go back to this boulder field with a bit better light (and more attention to DOF on my part).




A bit cluttered (darn Nature ) but you can see how this tree seems to be in the process of splitting the boulder like an adz:
