A Rose by Any Other Name
Posted By: Bramela, 04-18-2008, 02:18 PM

A Rose shot caught, very windy conditions, cloudy, poor light. Reguired some PP, but was pleased with the result. K10d, Pentax 50-200 @160mm.

Seems like the cloudiness was an advantage here! The colours came delicate and beautiful in this one. You might want to consider cropping out the bud from the top part, I find it little distracting, what do you think?

Great colors Bruce very soft and good framing, I agree on the bud up top - takes a bit away from the picture.

Beautiful soft color... I do agree with the others that the bud at the top should be cloned away...

Yes! Cloning away is is better than cropping, that I first suggested.

Looks terrific to me, Bruce. Catching one like this when it's windy is really tough. Great job.

Ok thanks a lot for your comments. Will have a look at it minus the bud. I had been undecided leave in/take out. I'll have a look at it anyway.
Thanks a lot, all.

Beautiful shot Bruce, love the color and definition, I happen to have the DA 50-200 too, the lens is a gem for its price.

Cheers,

Rene

Yes, get the distance right and you can achieve what a lot of closer lens can produce, with a little strategic cropping..
Thanks a lot for the comments Rene.
