Koi

Koi in a pond at Sensou-ji, Tokyo's oldest temple. The temple dates back to the seventh century, when Japan's capital was Nara, and Tokyo didn't exist.

You managed to capture these beauties well. Not easy to get so many in focus either. Good job.

Thanks Susan! I was really please with this one, and I only noticed the ginko leaves when I edited it. They add something extra to the scene.

Now you mention it, they do look a bit like anenome fish! I wonder if fish in Japan and Australia could communicate?

Thanks Jer! I'm amazed how those fish survive when it's snowing, actually.

Thanks! Please have a look at my other albums from Japan on Flickr and you'll find lots of inspiration. I definitely recommend a visit, and if you're under 30 years old, think about a working holiday. Staying in a country for an extended time is a great way to get to know it, but be warned - Japanese employers expect long hours of work!

Thanks! There's a lot of unexceptional photos in the collect too, but I wanted to show some things about Japan which are interesting but not photographically exciting - such as what business hotels look like.

True! The Japanese take pride in their work, no matter what it is. If you do decide to visit any time soon, I'm happy to provide tips on getting around.
