Texas Wildflowers the Sandy Land Bluebonnet
Lens: Pentax DA 35 mm Macro Limited Camera: Pentax K3 Photo Location: Fayette County ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F8

The Sandy Land Bluebonnet is native to this area and is not as 'fluffy' as the other kind, one of the other differences is that it is blue all the way up, the others have a white tip. The red flower is the Castilla Indivisa or Texas Paintbrush, and the weird Puffball Fungus.

Very nice, I could look for some flowers, but I'd have to dig down through 18 inches of snow.

Terrific photos! I've never gone up to look at these flowers blooming. My wife has suggested a tour several times, and I agree - but only if we take the roadster. She thinks there would be no point, in that case, since I wouldn't "slow down and smell the flowers."

You would would have to look quickly in the roadster but might be a nice color blur effect. Maybe better than the "lady in Jeep driving slowly" with camera at ready and vehicles passing with cussing drivers effect. lol
