Looks a lot like our Evening Primrose - which is an "insect magnet" here too. I always find it difficult to capture yellow tones accurately - you nailed it on this one!

Thank you, was wondering what it was, it is taking over a small area along with a few other weeds and is competing with Bitou Bush in a small area where i saw it. So it is in infamous company here in East Coast Australia. The Yellow was PP in Aperture, this photo has been re-processed and posted in Critique Photo to Compere.

Regards

Even weeds can look good. Where about is this Ash Island? (I drive past one on the way to work every day at Hexham).

Yes Ash Island, is the Northern End of Kooragang, the steelworks dumped a lot of slag in there to fill up some of the wetlands, years ago still plenty of wetlands there still and some slag dykes. There was a Harrier working the area but i could not get close enough. So the weed was shot. Plenty of photo opportunities on Kooragang/Ash Island.
