Graffiti in a tunnel
Lens: Sigma 17-50 2.8 Camera: K-5IIS
Posted By: TRex1123, 04-05-2014, 07:38 PM

This image is missing something... I can't figure it out. I also cannot seem to darken the spray paint in the middle. When cars would drive by the gloss from the paint would reflect. Any opinions?

The center pillar has become the Subject. The graffiti art on both sides of the photo are de-emphasized. Tell the State DOT to lose that stinkin pillar!

I like it. Not the same composition as your first, which I think would be more compelling if shot from the backside of the pillar that personally bugs me. But both your photos are excellent, please do not take my pillar criticism as anything other than a composition exercise.

Its all good! I want good and bad feedback (thats why I post them); otherwise my photography doesn't get any better and you all are stuck looking at my crap . There is no reason to soften your constructive criticism.

Have you tried a real quick bit of PP like using an adjustment brush in Lightroom, just paint the column and then decrease the exposure, contrast & saturation a tad, is this the sort of result your looking for?

That looks a lot better. I still wish I could get that blue to come out more. I have CS3 but I have no idea how to use it... haha. What I would really love to do is completely isolate that blue pattern in the middle bring out the blue and make the pillar a gray that kind of disappears.

It's all do able with CS3 the things you want done, it's just how much time you want to spend doing it.
