Politicians use the straw man all the time.

The famous Straw Man argument:

A) That's a nice picture of the straw men here
B) This is a terrible picture because you insulted the people of this town
A) No I just said it is a nice picture of the straw men here
B) There, you said it again - this town is full of straw men. Therefore the picture is shocking.
A) I didn't...

and so it goes.

Or three or four... which leads to the question, how many straw men does it take before a straw man argument is proposed... the answer of course being only one. The opposing argument wouldn't have to be a straw man argument.
