Signs of Spring
Lens: 55-300 WR Camera: K-30 Photo Location: WV

A nice afternoon walk with our dog. I was surprised the Grackle let me get as close as I got. I had a chance to get a small woodpecker on a tree near the Robin, but I didn't notice it was there until I was right on it, and it spooked. Bummer.

Some nice shots! Bet you are happy spring is finally coming.
I tramped around in the bush today with camera, no great shots to share, just a squirrel and very elusive chickadees that kept moving before I could shoot.

Thanks Rob. I do enjoy the arrival of Spring, and the daily explosion of new life. However, I also enjoy Winter. Rather than huddle inside, I get out as much as possible. A 5-10 mile hike in bone-chilling cold, howling winds, and 6+ inches of snow is something I very much enjoy.

just a note tony,

you might want to do a lens calibration check on your 55-300.
from what I can tell, nearly every one of your images posted in this thread is front focused.
whether it's a focusing error because of the branches/objects in front of your subject, or a calibration issue, I can't tell.
but at least eliminate one variable by using the micro-adjustment menu if needed.

I appreciate that suggestion, because I've been thinking I was getting better results shooting manually with my old K-mount Vivitar 75-210. I'll check it out tomorrow in some good light.
