Louisville Zoo
Lens: DA *200 Camera: Pnetax K3 Photo Location: Louisville
Posted By: Rondec, 04-13-2014, 03:38 AM

Went on a trip to the Louisville Zoo yesterday with my wife and kids and thought I would share a few photos from the trip. It was a beautiful day for it, although warm enough that a lot of the animals were sleeping.

Orangutan.

Croccodile (shot at iso 6400).

Female Mallard.

Monkey. (iso 6400).

Meerkat.

It was my first time using the K3 with the DA *200 in a zoo type situation and it performed quite well. High iso shots are a little noisy, but at least you can use it when needed.

Great captures, the meerkat and Orang are standouts. The DA 200 is very sharp.

Thank you. It is a great lens. I own a 55-300, but if I'm in 200 range, I prefer that by far.

Very nice shots! I grew up in Louisville and now live in Lexington. I have many fond memories of that zoo, although I haven't been in a while. I need to go back!

Thanks. It's a fun zoo. Not too far away from the animals and in general, not a whole lot of glass in between you and the animals.

Thank you. Just as far as the shot went, felt like there wasn't quite enough depth of field, but it wasn't a great light situation either.
