More Spring things
Camera: K-30 Photo Location: WV
Posted By: TonyTurley, 04-13-2014, 04:49 PM

A few more from yesterday's hike. Lots of things opening up in just the past week. I have a lot more, but I thought I'd save them for another day. A few were taken with the Vivitar S1 19-35mm on the K-30, but most with the 55-300 WR.

I liked the way this Beech seemed to be growing right out of the rock

Loads of moss-covered trees around

Young May Apple (Podophylum peltatum)

Cinnamon Fern (Osmunda cinnamomea), I think

Red Trillium (Trillium erectum) about to flower

Trillium cluster

Red Maple (Acer rubrum) just opening

Very young Hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana)

American Hornbeam (Carpinus caroliniana) in front, with Hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana) in the background. Easy to confuse at first, the two eastern Hornbeams have some key differences that are easy to spot with a bit of study.

Young Garlic Mustard? mole?
