Happenings at the dog park
Lens: SMC-Tak 135 f/2.5, Sigma 30 f/1.4 Camera: K-5 IIs Photo Location: Tempe

It's been a while since I've posted a dog park thread, so here's some catching up. I haven't been taking as many pictures as when I was unemployed, but I've taken quite a few.

I'll start with Milly, an 8-month-old English bulldog. This is what she acts like, all the time.

This is a real dog, I assure you. He's a Chinese Crested named Cloud. His hair just grows that way; he wasn't shaved.

Demon dog photobomb!

Pekingese? Papillon? Pomeranian? I get all the toy P-breeds mixed up. Whatever he is, he's cute as heck.

Sam the Chihuahua mix, all bundled up against the sub-70° temperatures.

Charlie the Mastiff-Great Dane mix, all 200-something pounds of him. He gets excited whenever he sees me, which is a scary thing.

This thread wouldn't be complete without a Corgi.

...or a flying French Bulldog!

Nice job - selective focus certainly "illuminates" the K-9s.

I appreciate it. I am a little addicted to shallow DOF.

Wow, thanks! I wouldn't know how to go about doing that, really. A bunch of my pictures are hanging up in the homes and offices of some Tempe dog owners, though. I made some calendars last year.

Things are about to slow down as it heats up, so we all have to get the action in now.

Thanks, Paul. That one was a happy accident. I love that black dog. She looks like a gargoyle, but she's really sweet.

Thanks Joel. I need to get a better picture of the gargoyle.

Glad you liked it. I've learned a whole lot about dogs over the past year.

She's one of my favorites, too. Very photogenic, but hard to get in a picture most of the time. This was one of her calmer moments.

As a lover of dogs (I have a Kuvasz boy), I can only say OMG.

I liked all those shots taken from the level of dogs' eyes.

There are many magazines and websites and clubs and organizations that deal with dogs, and I think you might notify a couple of them, show a few (small, watermarked) samples. Don't expect much, as these types of clubs usually aren't swimming in cash, but it might still be a nice experience. Based on their response you can decide whether you want to work with them and to what extent, making some type of contract

I've never heard of a Kuvasz before. He looks hard to find in the snow!

Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into that when I get some time. I don't expect much monetarily, but it would be nice to get my pictures out there.
