Tonight's lunar eclipse is almost upon us! Once the time comes (3:07-4:24am EST), let's see those moon photos - share them in this thread I will be taking the F* 250-600mm for a spin tonight.

Here's a guide we've put together on shooting the moon. It also contains specifics about this particular eclipse:

Here's an example of what we might see tonight as the moon passes through Earth's shadow:

The red eclipse mood has to start with a moonrise, right... So, here's the first one...

Oh, wow!! It's hazy and slightly overcast here in northern Nevada. I wish it were clear as you have it, mikeSF.

Gathering light at the speed of light (ISO 3200 @ F-6.5 for 1 Sec EV+3...) is a chore!
getting up at 4:00 A.M. was no easy feat either... *Yawn

Clouds obscured the moonrise so unfortunately I only got to see the end of the eclipse.

I'm sorry, very ordinary by comparison. This is a quick attempt before the rain came down. I didn't have time to tinker with the settings.

Love the first pic! That's an awesome foreground though out I would have cropped off the blob at the very bottom.
