Thanks for the replies. As far as sharpness, I think it's the resizing, I just had the it printed on an 8x10 sheet and it looked sharp. As far as the placement, I wasn't trying to really take a great image, it was more-or-less reference for a shot I took with a medium format camera, but I do appreciate the feedback!

Good shot. I think the resizing does affect the way an image shows-up. Is it resizing here or the software people use?

Baltimore certainly looks good. Is it that type of weather all year.

probably more or less the settings in which the individual person uses to save it for upload because their are severe jpg artifacts in this photo which are from low quality compression not resizing.

I use photoshop (after any PP in lightroom):

Image>Image Resize to 800 x 534 from the 3008 x 2008 6mp original size
Edit>Convert to Profile from ProPhoto to SRGB (based on the settings from my camera and export from Lightroom)
Image>Mode to convert from 16bits/channel to 8bits/channel
any sharpening that may be needed is done now (usually using unsharp mask)
File>File Info to add copyright info using XMP
File>Save As>JPEG>Baseline("Standard")> Quality 12 Maximum for (upload to JPGmagazine which excludes any resizing or sharpening)

for upload here I usually use quality 11
