Boy did I mess up this time
Posted By: little laker, 04-22-2008, 05:05 PM

I'll start by saying that I needed to relax today, so I grabbed out my Sigma SD14 hoping for some artistic shots.

Anyways I didn't get anything really all that impressive. Just a pair of crows kissing.

Since my back was getting tired I stopped in at a coffee shop. I sat down and started to enjoy my hot chocolate, and banana bread when a really cute girl around 4 years old sat down beside me. And said Hi.

Anyways when I noticed that she was interested in my camera I let her look closely at it. And then I even put the neck strap on her and left her take some photographs with it.

Well, she put most of us to shame

Here's what she got, with very little editing on my part.

Her older lady friend

My best photo in years. I would have shaven if I knew this would happen

Her very attractive mom

Even an artistic photograph of my hot chocolate. Using a remote flash.

And her root beer.

This is the brick wall across the street.

I swear to you folks that I never touched my camera other than adjusting the f-stop for a few photographs.
Although I did hold the flash for the remote shots.

So because of my mistake I might put all us pro's out of business when she gets better than us.

Sorry

I'll be sending her mom the link to this thread.
I know that everyone here is great, but please keep any comments appropriate for children to read.
Just in case she gets a chance to read them as well.

I have a photo idea if her mom is interested in the near future, getting her to use my Pentax and act like a photo journalist

Stu, it's wonderful to see you take your mind off of the current events. Isn't it amazing how kids can surprise us? Just give them a chance. You've probably started a little girl to a career in photography. (pity the parents when she demands a new K20D)

Thanks Gaelen,
The Sigma is a nice camera alright.
I can't say that it competes against the Pentax, but they sure compliment each other.

I really wish that I had my K100D as well, it would have been a lot easier for her to carry.
Plus I would have probably gotten a good photograph of her with a camera

Thanks Ror,

The K200D is a little more realistic for someone her age
And hopefully when she's old enough the camera companies will be offering her sponsorships left, right and center. Making it easier on her poor parents.

Actually it's been a great day, There's a good chance that problem is resolved. Plus I've got a possible fair sized client
I'm as close to cloud 9 as possible today

Thanks Kim,

I'll be honest, she was smart enough to use a bounce flash for most of them. So that's how she eliminated the motion blur.
What a smart girl

All the info should be there
