Surfers at North Stradbroke Island (Aus)
Lens: Da18-250mm Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Frenchman Bay, North Stradbroke Island (Australia) ISO: 100

There were 3-4 m waves at Frenchman Bay, North-eastern tip of North Stradboke Island (Qld, Australia) yesterday. The surfers enjoyed these wave conditions and most of them were pretty experienced. I truly enjoyed watching their acrobatic skills from the beach.

Cropped shots taken with the DA18-250mm at 250mm, Hi continuous shooting, AF-C. Minimum PP with PDCU 4.40.

Comments always welcome.

Good action shots. The last one gives an interesting perspective.

PJ, thank you for the nice comment.

The 'heavy' cropping of the first shots showed the limitation of the DA18-250mm IMHO.

I agree with your comment about the last shot. The waves were big and a perspective from the beach level gave a fascinating view.

The last one is definitely the best. The cropping of the other shots makes the PF stand out to me. I'd like to see the same shots less heavily cropped; you might then be able to adjust the contrast curve a little. Good stuff!

That takes some serious skill , I tried it once on tiny waves failed miserably.
