Just a snake

Run of the mill water snake. I am just going to call him a Northern Brown unless someone who knows better can tell me different. He does not look to be of the venomous kind by the looks of the eyes. Wish I could have got a better shot but he was about 30 feet away and I could not get any closer. Then again really didn't want to.

Great capture of a Water Snake. I caught many of these as a kid and this brought back fond memories. They are not venomous. In the South, they are often confused with the dangerously venomous Cottonmouth. Your shot shows the sharply keeled scales nicely.
