Nancy (With the Laughing Face)
Lens: Pentax-A 35-105/3.5 Camera: K5ii Photo Location: My Basement ISO: 6400 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F3.5

Got this lens from a forum member today, who will rue the day he parted with it. @35mm, f3.5

I had taken a few test shots in the yard and then was looking at them in my basement in the dark, for better screen contrast and Nancy was giving me the staredown. There was late afternoon sun coming down the stairs to her left and I took this shot wide open focused on her left eye.

I suspect I'm going to keep this lens...and the dog.

Tack sharp where the focus was - I suspect she was more interested in getting you out of the dark to go for a walk.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I think Nancy had high hopes when I came home from work and grabbed my camera. It usually means a walk or a drive to the woods.

You'll all be happy to know that she has recovered emotionally and physically.

How many treats did it take? Goldens can have such expressive faces...

No, this was a dog-initiated sitting, though I think she was trying to telepathically tell me that it was going to start raining again and we should get our walk in while it was clear. It turns out I should have listened to her.

And, for the record, Nancy is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Smaller and much goofier than Goldens, but awesome dogs.

Hard to conceive of being goofier than a Golden ... She looks an awful lot like our older girl (Kandy, aka Miss FruitLoop) with the reddish short coat and narrower head. Our younger one is more the classic show-dog appearance, blonde, long-hair, and broader head...

I had this lens and found the mechanics of it to be of curious nature and I just didn't bond with it, in spite of the great optics.
