Dragonfly
Lens: Sigma 18-250 Camera: Pentax Kx Photo Location: Thousand Oaks, CA ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F8

This is why its always better to take two photos. (If you have time).
The first shot is far focused with the foreleg is focus but the body and wings a little soft.
The second has the body and wings sharp and makes a better picture.

OK, Here is picture #1, notice the difference in focal point. I like Picture #2 (the first posted) better

Yes this one looks a bit out of focus to me.
I like the first post better too.

I think the problem is that the DOF is too shallow, try taking your aperture up to F18 or so.

I agree with you Eaglem, however, the Adjustment wheel on my Kx is inoperable so I can't shoot in AV mode.
On the other hand, walking about on a nice day with the ISO set at 800 was a little foolish also. Thanks for your comment.
