Lovely setting and photos. How long after Spring melt before the giant flies and mosquitoes awaken?

It really depends on the weather. The black flies need 55 degree running water, it can take a few days or a few weeks, depending on how hot it is.

Nice series... that first one makes me feel a bit tilted for some reason Looks like a great place to visit.

I love how the first shots are teasers and as you get to the later ones the amount of snow increases

Yes it probably is tilted, everything I shoot needs a bit of correction these days hand held,

The snow in the bush is getting pretty thin.... another couple days and all that will be left is the piles in the parking lots.

Those boats look like they're just sitting there, waiting for the ice to melt.... boats are very patient.

That's all we have left around here, but I doubt your piles are anywhere near as black and sooty as the ones I've seen.

I lived in Toronto for close to 20 yeas all total, I have to agree, those Toronto piles look more like sand than snow.
