Surfin' San Francisco Bay
Posted By: xs400, 04-23-2008, 09:29 PM

Got these shots on my way home from work today. All shots taken with K100D + Pentax-FA 80-320mm.

There aren't any waves on San Francisco Bay, so people use the strong winds for wind surfing or kite surfing. These shots were taken at Coyote Point on the San Francisco Peninsula. The water temp in the Bay is about 50F and the air temp was about 55F when I took these shots. These guys are tough.

San Francisco is about 15 miles in the distance.

Yep I'd be wearing a wetsuit too in those conditions! Love the third shot, Frank.

Very nice series Frank. I like the second one a lot. The framing is good and I like the way the bridge frames the scenery in the background.

Excellent Frank very nicely captured !

Edit: I meant to mention I know that bridge as well - had the 'fortune' of taking a right istead of a left one time that was a 22 mile mistake and a toll ! The bridge is impresessive I have dirven it a couple time some even intentionally !

I like the series. The 3rd is a great shot with the guys in the background. These guys are dedicated. The parasail looks like a blast and I bet it moves fast.

The parasail is indeed fast. And when the wind is good, the parasail guys can get airborn, it pretty cool to see them get up in the air. It must be fun!!

Great stuff, Frank. #3 could easily grace the pages of Sail magazine.
