Wow, you're not helping my LBA...I always thought of the 58mm Nokton as a "portrait" lens, but I've been seeing a lot of wonderful landscapes shot with it lately. A question for anyone who knows: am I right in thinking that the 58mm renders considerably warmer than the 40mm Ultron? At any rate, the performance of both of those lenses makes the lack of AF an easy trade-off for the kind of work I'd like to do.

I am not sure about the Ultron, nor the Nocton for that matter as I just picked it up from the Marketplace and haven't given it a good run through yet. There is a Voigtlander club in the lens club section. It doesn't seem to get much activity but I'm sure you can do some more surfing of images.

I'll definitely look forward to more examples from you, although I'd worry that the 58mm might be a DA70 killer should I ever muster the courage to get really ruthless with my gear.

With regards to the DA70, that is the one prime that I thought at some point I would end up repurchasing after I sold it last year. I'm going to give the voigtlander a good run through and perhaps the hole (no portrait lens) in my kit is plugged up. From my first use as a landscape lens, I do like what I see. It has what appears to be good 3d imaging.

I'll be curious what you think as the seasons progress--I'd be willing to bet that the Voigtlander will really bring home some stunning autumn foliage shots.
