Hidden Gems
Posted By: noelpolar, 04-29-2014, 01:34 AM

From time to time once you have a chance to look more closely at a photo you've taken you may stumble upon something within the image that you didn't know was there…..a hidden Gem maybe? This is one I found. A lady sitting in St Marks Square in Venice that I caught in the background of a shot I took whilst doing the Tourist thing.

What have you found?

So you cropped this out of a photo you took?

Seems quite dark as, according to the exif, it was taken just before Noon.

I also find the GPS info interesting. I'm curious as to why a photo taken in St. Mark's square, Venice has coordinates for Vienna, Austria in the exif. Could you tell us a bit about how you tagged the coordinates to the photo?

Yes I cropped this out of a photo I took. The photo was not something I'd keep…… but I found this lady sitting against a pillar under a veranda and I hadn't noticed her when taking the photo but I was mesmerised by her pose.

I've never noticed the GPS info before! It's definitely St Marks Square (I have many photos numerically each side of this one). I've had a bit of a look at the GPS info for all my photo's I took on that trip (Rome, Paris etc) and they have the same GPS info in them. A mystery to me. Back then (2010) I shot jpegs on a K200d….….with camera on Auto (how times have changed!)…..mostly used iPhoto…no real photo processing as such.
