Some walk around in Melbourne whith a Jupiter-37A
Posted By: Voe, 04-26-2008, 05:26 AM

Hi all,

Here are some shots from today's walk around in Melbourne.
I know the shots are nothing special, but I really enjoy the rendering of this old lens "Made in USSR".

Very good lens. Wouldn't mind having one. The last pic looks very 3d'ish.
Reminds me a bit of the 43mm ltd.

Nice capture of John So!

I really like 3, 4, and 5 too, very clever angles.

These are pretty good! The lens bokeh are really nice. Of course credit to the photographer for composition skill.

I'm really enjoying this series - the colors are so rich without looking bizarre. I'm particularly taken with #4, the street light (?) for some reason.

Voe, I really like this series... each one has something that pull me in. Wonderful colors and beautifully framed shots... thanks for sharing some shots from this lens.

I see you have the camera set at
Contrast = Soft
Saturation = High saturation
Sharpness = Normal

Is that your normal settings with the K10d? Or is that one of the Bright/Normal presets?

Wow ... this is a great series.
The lens renders the colours beautifully (on par with many "Limited" shots I have seen).
Nice composition and separation of focussed objects as well.

Keep posting more please.

Thanks for your feedback Gus.
I have setup the "Image Tone" to "Bright".
I found myself recently to lazy to post process from RAW, and too unpatient to wait for my slow computer which I build in yearly 2004 to work with Adobe Lightroom.
I am usually not a JPEG fan, and I still use RAW for the very important shots where more dynamic range is required. But for the quick and dirty street shots during an overcast day JPEG will do just fine

The AM model should be as good if not better judging by other people's opinions, but I could not find one at a reasonable price. I bought this one from an Ukranian seller on eBay.

I see one of these listed as a "Zenit/Practica M42" mount - that's the same as the Pentax
m42 mount, correct?
