Saturday in Gatineau park
Posted By: attack11, 04-28-2008, 04:25 AM

i went for a walk in gatineau park with jen this weekend.

it was my first time in the park; i wasn't sure what it was going to look like.

we walked past some kind of hawk, and i didn't get a good pic. he took off quickly.

so then i took a pic of jen.

she pointed out this spikey tree.

a few minutes later we came across a bear above us on a ridge. he wasn't interested and walked away.

as we continued along the path a woodpecker flew right at jen and buzzed her head. 3 followed it and they had some kind of fight.

we found a spot to sit.

i closed the pepsi i drank when i squished it to carry back. skills.

we found a hollow tree that had fallen over.

i turned around and snapped a pic of jen.

on the way back to my truck i noticed these trees overlapped well. a lot of trees were arched.

My nephew lives in Gatineau where I stayed way back in the early '70s but never visited the parl. One of these days I'm gonna make it to Gatineau Park.

Thanks for letting us join your walk.

if i saw a bear, i'd be more worried about getting some distance rather than taking a picture of it!

What can I say. The only bears we have here are in zoos.

the last time I saw a bear was early one morning at a summer camp. I followed it to a dumpster and shot a couple pics with a disposable camera :-)

A pleasant series. Like a photography journal.

The shadow of the bear does look scary. I would not even bother with the idea of producing a click sound to abstract unncessary attention.
