The sun set here last night shortly before 8PM but he showed up to feed at 8:20PM and it was fairly dark on the East side of the house. I don't have an abundance of Hummingbirds here maybe one family but I have to make the best of it when they show up at the feeders which right now is not that often maybe once an hour.I had the front door open and the setup was 6ft from the feeder.I chalked last night up as a success.Any time that you take 4 shots and come up with 2 keepers it is a good outing.--charliezap

The high contrast makes this stand out from normal daytime birdfeeder shots. I wonder whether you should process out the red light in the bottom right as it is a strong distraction.

Nice ones Charlie. I'm surprised they aren't blurred with that shutter speed you had, 1/150s on my birds they would be, blurred that is. But you did great!! TFS

Actually the flash is what painted the picture at 1/150 sec.If the flash didn't fire the shot would be all black. The hummers don't mind the flash. They love the lime light.--charliezap

That explains it, they like being in the lime light so you give them the light.
